Unfortunately we are not able to locally generate our own electricity so have bought Carbon Offsets for Year April 2007 to March 2008.

We believe that the program has demonstrated that Companies and households can reduce their energy consumption saving money and helping the environment. We have helped several local businesses reduce their carbon footprint and save them money including solicitors offices, a surveyor, restaurant, hairdresser and estate agent. Not only have we saved them money we have provided a better working environment for employees.

The carbon offset scheme we have chosen is a certified scheme designed to provide rapid reductions of carbon emission. We have not chosen tree planting which could take many years to generate benefits.

The Scheme offsets our residual Carbon Emissions for all direct activities for Morgan Lighting, and includes electric usage, air miles and car usage.

The program to continue to reduce CO2 emissions and stay carbon neutral continues and we will use new technology and continuous improvement to make further gains.

We supply excellent low energy light bulbs and install energy efficient lighting and control systems and have already saved many homes and businesses significant sums on their energy bills and maintenance costs as well as providing better living and working environments. Many of the Low Energy Bulbs are supplied at subsidised prices.

Payback periods for low energy lighting are often less than 1 year and continue paying back for many years.

Morgan Lighting have increased recycling to include cardboard and metals. We are delighted to have found a local mail order company who take our recyclable packaging chips and re-use them for their customers. We implement the WEEE directive to facilitate re-cycling of fluorescent tubes.
